From slow Magento to a Next.js storefront that converts 31% better

A MatterTech engagement with Cairo Cart.

Cairo Cart project — MatterTech case study
The challenge

Cairo Cart's Magento store took 9 seconds to load on Egyptian mobile networks. Checkout abandonment was at 78%, every sale event risked a crash, and their team couldn't ship changes without a specialist agency in another timezone.

What we built

We rebuilt the storefront on Next.js with a headless architecture: static product pages served from Egyptian edge locations, a streamlined one-page checkout, and Paymob + COD payment flows tuned for Egyptian shoppers. The merchandising team got a custom admin for banners, bundles and flash sales.
